Biathlon of Foolishness

A Race of Remembrance Tradition

Each year, brave competitors, and a few who may have lost a bet, don fancy dress, tackle a run around the circuit and willingly throw themselves into the icy waters of the Irish Sea, all while raising vital funds for Mission Motorsport.

Part challenge, part spectacle and entirely ridiculous, the Biathlon of Foolishness has become one of Race of Remembrance's most memorable traditions. Bringing together competitors, supporters and spectators alike, it combines laughter, camaraderie and just the right amount of discomfort in support of the Armed Forces community.

Whether you're taking part or simply cheering from the sidelines, it's impossible not to smile. Just don't expect the sea to be any warmer.

DO you have what it takes?

The Biathlon of Foolishness takes place on Saturday lunchtime ahead of the Race of Remembrance Race. Each partipcant will:

  • Complete a run around part of the circuit

  • Descend to the shoreline below Trac Môn

  • Take on the infamous cold-water challenge (a decision many immediately regret)

  • Return to to the paddock in the hopes of warming up!

  • Fancy dress is strongly encouraged. Dignity is entirely optional.

Whether you're taking part, cheering from the sidelines or sponsoring a teammate, every pound raised helps Mission Motorsport support veterans, service leavers and military families across the Armed Forces community.

EVery Team Needs a Fool!

Every Race of Remembrance team receives an automatic entry into the Biathlon of Foolishness.

Teams are encouraged to nominate at least one brave volunteer to represent them in this celebrated test of endurance, resilience and questionable judgement.

Not keen on running around the circuit before taking an icy dip in the Irish Sea? Teams may instead make a donation to Mission Motorsport and invoke the ever-popular "Get Out of Foolishness" option.

Whether you take part or claim immunity, you'll be helping raise vital funds for the Armed Forces community.

The only question is: who's your team's fool?
